    Dear Goshika Ma'am
    Welcome to IL!

As Leena Ma'am has pointed out, you cant lay your hands on Diwali crackers here ... but there are some special poojas arranged at the temple ; it will be crowded though. We also get varieties of mithai and namkeen at all outlets ...

Dont you have any of your relatives here? I usually visit my uncle and friends and we sit and talk, or watch Diwali special programmes on TV!!!

Happy Diwali in advance ... hope you enjoy your first Diwali here!

    Hey Goshika!

Firstly...Welcome to IL... Secondly.. It's the first time I heard of "Goshika" What does it mean?

Diwali in Dubai is quiet.... no crackers... But like it's already been pointed out - pooja in the temple, or visit to relatives.

When we were younger, our Diwali celebrations in Dubai would be of giving sweets to various families in the building.... (I did it the first time last year & I plan to do this year as well.) Then it was the seeing of lights that adorn the buildings of Dubai.... It is certainly wonderful to do so.

    Happy Diwali!
