    Re: Chemba kuzha Puttu

    Hi rekha,

It is the basic ingredient which we have to prepare the "kuzha puttu". In Kerela, they have this as break fast. very delicious food. Now a days they are making these puttu in many varieties. I like them very much. Like Tamil Nadu's idly or pongal, they used to have this as break fast. For that we have to prepare the 'rice' but now a days we are getting variety of "puttu podi" in shops. ( red rice, normal rice etc.,)

    Now clear?:)

    Dhavanai Idli

This is the dish when you eat once you wont forget the taste of it! :crazy

    Just try it! :thumbsup

    Ingredients

    Urad dal – ½ cup
    Channa dal-½ cup
    Toor dal -½ cup
    Raw rice -1½ cup
    Coconut ½ cup freshly grated
    Ginger finely chopped
    Salt

    For tempering:

    Mustard seeds -1 tsp
    Urad dal – 1 tsp
    Curry leaves

    Method:

Soak toor dal, channa dal together and urad dal seperate and rice separately for 2 hours.
Grind the both dals first and rice second.
And then grind the urad dal lastly.
Then mix all the batter together; add salt to the batter.
Mix well and leave it overnight to ferment.
Now heat oil in a pan and make seasoning with mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, ginger.
    Add this to the batter.
Add coconut also. ( you can add coconut also while seasoning and fry for a min.)
Grease 4 to 5 tumblers in oil.
Then pour the batter in the tumblers and let it cook for 20 to 25 minutes in steam like 'Kanchepuram Idly'
Allow it cool for some time then with a knife or spoon take the idlis from the tumblers and cut it into pieces.
    Serve hot with tomato chutney.
After tasting this idly please dont forget to give a feed back.:thumbsup

This fast break meals are suitable for employees because they need food to restore energy but since some of them are busy to finish their work they forgot to eat their meal so it is now the time to create their own meal in simple way.
