Kings XI Punjab were unable to make a big score as Ravi Bopara was the only batsman who made a good batting display.

Despite the early departure of Tilakratne Dilshan and Sehwag, Delhi Daredevils won the match coutesy the captain’s knock from Gambhir.

Delhi Daredevils registered their second consecutive win in IPL 3 by defeating Rajasthan Royals by six wickets, on Monday, March 15, 2010.

Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to field. In a match where the distraction caused by night flies was disturbing, Rajasthan Royals managed to score 141-6, courtesy a commendable bowling performance by the Delhi bowlers. A fast 53 from Abhishek Jhunjhunwala with some assistance from Paras Dogra helped RR post this total.

When DD came out to bat, Veeru entertained the crowd with a blistering innings of 75 runs scored off just 34 balls. The knock included eight boundaries and five overboundaries.

It indeed was a thumping victory last night. Sehwag was in superb flow and took his team to victory in Match No. 6 of IPL 3 at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. The modest target of 142, set by the Rajasthan Royals, was easily chased by the Daredevils in just 17.1 overs. Rajasthan Royals went for their second consecutive loss.

Sehwag’s innings, last night, came to an end when Graeme Smith took a magnificent catch off Munaf Patel. This did not stop the Daredevils from cruising to victory comfortably. Dinesh Kartik remained not out at 26.

With this win, Delhi joins Kolkata Knight Riders at the top of the points table, with 4 points

Delhi Daredevils played their third match of IPL 3, against the Mumbai Indians, at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi, last evening. They lost the match as Mumbai Indians registered a thumping victory beating Delhi by a huge margin of 98 runs.

When Delhi came out to field, the captain Gautam Gambhir suffered a hamstring injury as early as the second over. He had to leave the field and could not even come out to bat later on. Dinesh Kartik captained the Delhi side after Gambhir left.

Batting first, Mumbai posted a huge total of 218-7. With Gambhir absent and Sehwag getting out in the seventh over, Delhi never looked like winning the game.

It was indeed a disappointing show by the Delhi Daredevils last night. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar made all the difference, as he played a sensational knock of 63 runs off 32 balls, for his team Mumbai Indians. It was a captain’s innings that carved the path of victory for his team.
Delhi had the chance of taking Sachin’s wicket. But Amit Mishra missed it by dropping a catch when the master blaster was on 35. That miss proved to be too expensive. The bowlers of Delhi Daredevils were helpless as SRT batted with a strike rate of 200 and the ball flew to every corner of the ground.

Friday, i.e. March 19, 2010 saw the 11th match of IPL3 which was played between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings at Feroz Shah Kotla.
Delhi posted a total of 185-6 at the end of their 20 overs, scoring runs at a rate of 9.25. Sehwag played a splendid inning of 74 runs off 38 balls which included 10 boundaries and 3 sixers. He got out in the 12th over when Kemp caught him off Muralitharan.

Chennai won the game scoring 190-5 in 19.1 overs. All the Delhi bowlers, except Dirk Nannes were very expensive.

The Kotla viewers were visibly disappointed. It was Delhi’s second consecutive loss.

Delhi Daredevils lost their third consecutive game of IPL 2010 on Sunday, March 21. They were set a target of 172 runs by Deccan Chargers, but they could reach a mere 161 runs in 20 overs after losing nine wickets.
David Warner had started an explosive inning for Delhi. But Viru disappointed. He played seven balls scoring three runs before he was caught by Herschelle Gibbs off Pragyan Ojha. Unfortunately, Warner, who seemed to take the match away from Deccan, got run out at the personal score of 57. He scored his runs off 33 balls with four boundaries and four sixers.
    Symonds took three wickets.

Delhi is still stuck with 4 points.

Delhi Daredevils will take on Kolkata Knight Riders today at Feroz Shah Kotla. The Knight Riders are feeling better after an emphatic win against the Kings Eleven Punjab. Delhi Daredevils are struggling to find the winning streak. But I guess it pays to be patient, as Kolkata got their victory against Punjab after three consecutive losses.

When IPL3 had started, Delhi looked very promising. But injury concerns have hampered their performance considerably. They have become inconsistent with the batting squad not doing well for them.

Delhi is now ranked sixth in the points table despite their victory in their last match, which was against RCB.

Delhi Daredevils bagged quite an emphatic victory against the Kolkata Knightriders on Monday, March 29.
Delhi skipper, Gautam Gambhir, won the toss and decided to bat first. Kolkata started off with an interesting strategy of opening the bowling with Chris Gayle. It paid off when Delhi lost three important wickets of Sehwag, Gambhir and Dinesh Kartik in the first three overs. But David Warner took over from there. He played a blistering knock. It was a blinder in every sense of the term. He was ably assisted by the experienced Paul Collingwood. Warner scored a hundred and Delhi piled up a total of 177-4.
