Yeah, the fairness creams. Yup, you're right. I'm really sorry for your friend. It's disturbing. In our locality too, a woman was killed by her FIL for not bringing some 10 Lakh rupees for staring a new construction business. It's horrible when you see things from a woman's point of view. You're right, when we look at these things, 'my choice' seems petty. But still we don't want anything, absolutely anything that promotes wrong doing. Because this thing might look petty now, it might end up shaping our young flexible minds into something unwholesome.I may be wrong. But, this is my point of view.

    Hello All,

Relieved to see that there are many others who hate the video's content. And now there is a video from Men's POV..After watching this video, it is so damn funny. Poor team, they have ended up making fun of themselves. Not sure what their initial objective was, but it has ended in a bad taste.

And OK, I accept that celebrities don't open their negatives in public. In that sense I accept Deepika has been different from the crowd. But it also makes me think if she wanted some publicity. They say in media, there is nothing called negative publicity. Anything about them in News is favorable for the celebrities. Anyway it may or may not be true with Deepika..I dont want to judge her statements now.

Thanks all, for participating in the discussion and making it thought provoking.

I don't understand the objective of this video. We all have these choices. We know .We have the choice to be any size except that we have to deal with the likes of Deepika who want us to eat a particular cornflakes to be smaller in size.We have the choice to be anything ...but Deepika tells us we need to be fairer.

We have the freedom to have sex ....may be not gay sex now.....but rest ,we are all free to exercise our choice. The consequences are a different deal.

Deepika Padokone is so miscast in this. We already know she has the choice and she lives them....so what is the relevance of the video?Maybe a housewife from Haryana or UP mouthing these choices would make more sense.

As for the 'sex outside marriage' statement.I think it was just for shock value.Without that, this video would not even have been noticed.

I think DP might have known on some level that she is/was miscast in this video.

If (only if) a housewife or even a working woman mouthed those lines from the video as her choice, she would have been (s***-)shamed by the entire nation. The negative criticism DP and the video makers are getting is of very low intensity.

The same happened to a woman who went for drinks at a local tasmac shop. She received harsh comments in social media for her act. I have no idea how much it made it to the news, but yeah, even this can be considered 'her (wrong) choice'.

I think if ever they wanted to create a video on woman empowerment, they could have casted people like Saina Nehwal, Kiran Bedi, etc. All the woman shown in that video are limited to Bollywood except for couple of woman.
