    Table decoration

    Dear friends,

I wish to keep fresh flowers on table daily. But it is not possible for me to bring fresh flowers daily. so I made an idea that to cut the woollens into small pieces, then decorated it on plastic plate. I sprinklled glitters on it. Then i keep it on a brass bowl. Daily I change the designs.
Please give some more ideas to decorate my table.

    Regards,
    Pushpa Vasuki

    Re: Table decoration

Decorating the table with a bowl/saucer containing wools !!! Great idea !!:thumbsup

Alternatively, You can also decorate a brass/metal/bronze plate . If you have a brass or bronze or silver plate [ thaali for serving or eating rice] at home, you can put some paper flowers in red, white and yellow colors [ make this paper flowers yourself in a simple way] and put a "diya " made of earth or bronze/brass or a "candle" in the middle of the Plate. Put the paper flowers around the "diya", or the "candle". You can spread some glitters over the flowers too !!!

    Take care,

    Re: Some more Diya decorations

    Hi all

Thank you for appreciating and encouraging my two daughters.

The procedure used by me to paint these diyas is very simple.

    Materials required

    (i) Diyas (available in the market in different shapes and sizes)
(ii) Emulsion paint (white) or fabric paint (white) for base coat
(iii) Metallic / Pearl Fabric paints (of your choice)
    (iv) Fevicryl 3D outliners.

    Procedure

    (i) Soak diyas in water for couple of hours
(ii) Take them out and wipe dry
(iii) Apply a coat of white paint or emulsion paint as base
(iv) Leave it dry (it takes only 5 minutes to dry)
    (v) Use your choice of paint on the base (as I have used Fevicryl's fabric paint - desert gold - on the base color on the Ganesha diya)
    (vi) Using 3D outliner decorate

The fabric paints dry quickly but the 3D outliners take 4-5 hours to completely dry.

Enjoy decorating your own diyas for the Karthikai!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice works !!!! Diya's are good. and thanks for the procedure.

have a question .. when I tried to use the fabric paints to paint diya's even after they are dried if we wipe with water the color is comming off.How to fasten them against the water ?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards
    Hima
