Hi ladies, a quick update. I delivered a baby girl yesterday ( Dec 8th). It was a normal delivery. We have named her Reya (Lakshmi in Sanskrit). Pronounced as Ray- yah.Good luck to all.

Just wanted to quickly write a note to first time moms. Be as much active as you can. I worked till my 39th week and in my 40th week, I roamed in malls. Just before my contractions started that night, me and my mom were painting our nails for each other. Then started the long haul...contractions started 10:30 pm in the night and I delivered 6:25 pm the next day. I took epidural when I was 4cm dilated. My baby was 8lbs at birth and I Got 2nd degree tears and stitches. The epidural was a blessing for me as it gave me rest in between and I slept for a bit. My body was numb but could feel the contractions after a while. The rest the nurse will guide you. I'm writing this as I had concerns with epidural and if I could have a normal delivery if I took it, will having a baby on the heavier side prevent a normal etc... Hope this helps someone out there.
