Hi all, I have always had a small temple installed in the house and I pray daily in the morning and evening. I know that there are a lot of rituals in Hinduism so I was wondering if I am missing something. I just light a 'deepak' and incense and say some prayers. I wanted to know if I am missing something and if there is a 'method' of doing daily pooja. All suggestions welcome
Hi Dreamer, Beautiful post! You can offer flowers and Pradas. No need to make any special pradas daily, you can put Sugar, misri, fruits. Daily we do normal puja, but on thrusday we do five aartis of Shirdi Sai-Baba as my husband is follower of Shirdi Sai-Baba. So on thrusday we put peda, laddu something special for Prasad. We do karpur aarti. Santoshi
Hi, Good to see your affection for your friend. You can go to some puja stores in your area and ask. Some big temples have shops you can see there if possible. If not available immediately can they get you in two three days. Any now a days easy one in online shopping. All the best. I wish good luck to the one you want to gift to your friend.
Hi though I am not Hindu, I do know from my friends that different people have different rituals. If you have elderly people in your family, you can ask them for daily religious rituals followed in your community and other special days. They will most probably be very happy to give you all the details, mostly more than what you can follow. Just follow what rituals you can. Best wishes for your spiritual journey
Simple steps for daily pooja... 1. Light pure ghee or til oil diya 2. Light a mild incense stick or dhoop 3. Offer flower and naivedyam to the Lord 4. Offer your heartfelt prayers...starting preferably with Ganapati...then to your favorite God or other Gods. 5. Pray that....Dear Lord...Please shower your blessings on everyone 6. Bow down your head...
