Curtain Raiser - by Varalotti

Most Gracious ILites,

What is the starting point of a game of tennis or badminton?

What ought to be the starting point of life, or at least, what ought to be the highest point of one’s life?

You will be surprised to know that both these unrelated questions have the same answer.
LOVE ALL

Even when you are playing tennis with your spouse, your beloved or your best friend, even when there is no other person near the court, you still shout LOVE ALL when you first serve the ball.

The rules of the game, the strategies, the dress you wear when you play the game – all these have changed a lot during the last several years. But the starting point of the game, “LOVE ALL “, has not changed. The same is with life.

I think there is a lesson for us here. As I was thinking about that lesson continuously the seeds of a good love story started sprouting in my mind. Of course the story is not about tennis or scoring, it is about “LOVE ALL.” And it is “LOVE ALL”. Yes, that is the name of the new serial I am going to write for you.

By now you would have known that I write only love stories – whether it’s happening inside a haunted house or in the sleazy tinsel town or in the corporate jungle or in forensic accounting and writing fields. Every story brought out a different dimension of love. And LOVE ALL (LA for short) will bring in not just another dimension, but the ultimate dimension of ultimate love.

LA is all about the love a brilliant software engineer, Yamini, has for her community, for her fellow-beings especially women. It’s about the love the creative engineer has for her ailing mother.

It is also about the love she has for a young writer. Again it’s about the love she has for a sixty plus man who specialises in religious writings. And finally it’s about the love so many people have for Yamini.

But what stands out is her love for her community. Hence the title LOVE ALL.

Yamini goes ahead to create a web-based community of love. What she starts as a small web-site to divert her from her worries soon grows into a powerful moment spreading its lovely wings world wide.

Like its immediately elder sister ALS, LA will have no outright villains or bad elements, so that my GFs, daughters and friends will not have any tense moments reading the story.

Of course there will be some negative elements – but they all will be people who are too worked up to dig beneath the surface of evil in their minds to find out genuine, 24-karat love. And Yamini’s mission is to help them do that.

Is LA a tear-jerker, Varalotti?

Yes and no.

Yes, because overwhelming love never fails to make us cry; and in this it is 100 times more potent than a peeled onion.

No, because we wont be crying in grief or sorrow; but only in love even if we are crying over the death of a character in the story.

The first episode of LOVE ALL will appear on 12<SUP>th</SUP> November, 2008. Within two episodes I will adust the timing to see that every week LA comes to you by Sunday evening, Indian time.

LA is my seventh child. In all these years I have found that every subsequent child of mine is more fortunate than its elder sisters. I placed ALS in the hands of 20000 plus mothers. I am placing LA in the hands of some 33000 plus mothers. The number of mothers has grown up by a whopping 60% plus – at times some good things in life grow faster than the Sensex or the Dow Jones.

You really floored me by your love for ALS. You told me that I made you cry with my narration. But it was you who made me cry ten times more by your loving fb, by your moral support and by your prayers. As I get ready for this new venture I seek the same kind of love, support and prayers from you - the real prime movers behind my writing.

My serials are my children. All my children long for your love. But I have brought them up in such a way that they can even bear your hatred. But indifference.. that’s something they can’t stand. They will simply wilt and wither.

But I am sure the thousands of mothers who constitute this community will never let that happen.

And now my dear ladies, it’s time to LOVE ALL.

Thanks for posting the Curtain Raiser and making an announcement of my new serial. To be honest, I am a little nervous about the new serial.
But I am sure with your support and that of all the loving ILites I should be able to deliver on my promise.

Dear Boost,

We warmly welcome the seventh daughter into our family. And Iam damn sure she will capture our hearts with her gurgling laughter, her mischeivous twinkle of her eyes, her tantrums everything of hers. She is going to rule our hearts. LOVE ALL what a title dear..... after ALS this should have been the perfect name for the next child.... beautiful...

I am just thrilled to see her.... and Yamini.... defintely we are going to cry Sri not out of sadness but out of overwhelming love. As you say this the best potent and we cannot deny it also.

Now after this CR, we have to wait patiently for 12th Nov.... what is the time Sri.... hope you don't post it in early mornings..... personally I cannot concentrate in the office.....

This is splendid news. After the stupendous success of ALS, we were expecting a new arrival and we are glad we didnt have to wait unduly long.

LOVE ALL does seem like a serial that only someone like you could concieve and rear, with utmost dedication.

"Enjoy life while it is happening" is the first thing that came to my mind reading the nascence of LA. You appease to take the burden on you to enlighten us without fail..Kodi pranams and may God be with you..I am all set to acquiescent every bit of your beautiful narration that is put forth to in the coming weeks..Great start Sridhar and was enthralled by the "Love all" relation to tennis..These impressed me right at the first sight..

Dear Sridhar,
My affectionate, loving and prayerful wishes for the success of your next serial.
I have been reading your writings here from the day, I joined IL - a matter of 3 yrs & a few months. Your evolution as a sensitive, mature writer is stupendous!
Does age really have something to do with it? ( now don't be naughty & ask me back" your age"? - no, I mean, your age!!)
The book on religion is best followed by the next title - Love All - whatever you plan to write about!
Just because, I don't send you feedbacks, you dare not imagine that you are not under my "observation" !! You are, very much, so!
As you are aware, I believe only in meaningful & constructive feed backs, ofcourse, in my own way.
