Corporal punishment in school

I recived caning from rattan cane as a form of punishment in school. We were five sisters. My mother was a strict teacher, she also caned us at home with her rattan cane.

I think corporal punishment (caning) is required for child's up bringing? We recived caning in scholls, now we realized it was correct. Now a days teachers were not so responsible like other teachers so ther is chance of missuse that's the concern. But a responsible mother can cane their children at home for keeping them in line, i believe.
