California could have thousands of more test kits and multiple new laboratories up and running to detect the virus associated with the COVID-19 infection as soon as next week, Gov. Gavin Newson said during a Thursday press conference.

The state has 8,227 test kits from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, but it can only use a fraction of them because most are missing a compound and chemicals needed to complete the tests, he said. California isn't alone. Other states have the same issue.

"I am surprised that this is not more of a national conversation," Newsom said. "It's like going to the store to purchase a printer but forgetting to purchase the ink."​

Now that the US President has declared a National Emergency, those US living NRI desi's who had known the 1975 National Emergency in India might wonder how different is the national emergency in USA is, and whether or not there is a similar National Emergency in India now.

The current US National Emergency declaration gives the executive (Governors and the President) spending powers that are generally reserved for the congressional bodies in both the states and the federal government. That is all there is to it. Civil rights of citizens is preserved during such national emergencies. US resident people may recall the other National Emergency that Trump had declared, and the newspapers called it "The Wall Emergency" -- when the Congress-allocated defense department funding was diverted to build the wall on the southern border with Mexico. Naitonal emergencies may also go on to provide expensive, tax payer funded, joke materials to TV hosts.

US government is sending out letters to their foreign resident citizens -- including government, military and other NGO groups -- to prepare a "Go-Bag" and keep in the ready, if their local governments were to impose restrictions on their movement for a few weeks, to put them in isolation or quarantine.

Dr. Campbell is saying ( in the description on Italy situation) that Fever Reducing medicines (aspirin, tylenol, Ibuprofen and such antipyretics) should not be given without consulting a doctor and verifying whether or not the illness is Covid-19 caused.

Avoid the usual OTC drugs like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Advil etc. etc.. that we take for fevers, even when you feel absolutely awful. When the temperature is up, the body's immune system has done that to fight off whatever infection that is bothering the system.
