Hi All, I do have to participate in a cookery contest in my DD's play school . The topic is "wholesome nutritional food for your child " . The recipe , details of "Nutritive Value" of the food and why you call it a "wholesome nutritional food" for your child needs to be displayed along with the cooked item . The contest will be evaluated on the following basis : Adherence to the topic nutritive value of the food, including changes during cooking will be taken into account the recipe display taste . Please... please help me with some ideas . TIA
Hi Smitha, I am no expert in cooking/baking. But I try out new recipes and make it healthy as possible. One thing that came to my mind as soon as I read this is whole wheat oats pancake with orange juice. It has many healthy ingreadients like wheat, oats, egg, butter(which is helathier in moderate amounts),orange. You can also add dates/nuts to it.It will taste yummy as well.
@amihere .. thanks a lot for the wonderful idea will try it at home tomorrow and check if DD likes it ... Thank you again
Smitha, that is a lovely idea by amy. I also think you should make a list of your DDs favorite foods and then think of ways to present etc. Perhaps mentioning some of the recipe names here will help ILs to give you an idea of how to modify, what is the nutritional value, how to present etc.
@SRama ... thank u a ton for that suggestion .... that idea didn't strike me till u said it .... She loves pasta, sandwiches(I give her only whole-wheat/multi grain bread) , pizza(home made with wheat base) , any food with egg / cheese , pancakes etc
@oaktree12 .. thaks a lot will try this at home and will make it for the competition if it comes well (I always fail in making good thin dosas )
