Hi friends, For the last 2 years, my family is going thru health issues. Some are petty some complicated...I'm on medication 3 times a day. DH had kidney stones...now ok. He is getting tired and stressed with office work. We are just hitting 30. I'm either tensed or depressed, over my health which has more diet restrictions...can't eat anything with salt or sugar. I'm loosing my temper and shouting. Later lamenting... I'm not able to concentrate on anything...always depressed Is there any specific Pooja to overcome health issues and become healthy? Is there any sloka? Currently I'm listening to Vishnu sahasranamam. Pls help me
I have no slokas to offer but just sympathy and good vibes. If it is any consolation, most of us have gone through many such problems. Just follow a good diet, sleep well, exercise if possible, meditate, explore alternative remedies, both allopathic and non-allopathic. See if you can attend a naturopathy retreat in India.

@Vedhavalli what health issues if you say in particular you have we could help you better Depression overcoming is possible in quite a number of ways dear.. pick what works for you: 1)Join Facebook motivational groups 2) books definitely help you come out of depression 3) Watch inspirational stories and documentaries 4) You could start a hobby like painting, embroidery, stitching, cooking 5) join some classes to stay occupied like yoga( improves your health in parallel), dance class, aerobics 6) talk to somebody close whom you like to .. 7) watch a lot of comedy shows 8) go for a walk , go on vacation to places you like ..., do visit temples for some peace you yourself can help come out of your condition Occupying yourself .. keeping yourself busy in learning or some activity definitely helps to get better with your condition. I would suggest you to switch to millet diet for some days for health issues. Millets being very rich in fibre usually is said to be a super reliever of many diseases and definitely helps to better health condition.
OP, Having the kidney stones are more common than, you think specially with men. Diet needs to changed, I am sure that doctors already provided the diet change recommendation. 30's something on medication - possibly due to stress, work tension, and running the household. In US, homams are expensive, if you have temple/priest nearby, you can request for Ganapathi homam at your home. Check their service charges. I am not saying it will turn things around. But, it will give you the happiness/peace of mind when you perform pooja along with your DH. If you are comfortable, you can invite other people to your pooja; Some opt to have a private homam just for the couple at home. Also, you can attend abhishekam/pooja at nearby temple, listening to the chanting will have the same effect.
Thank you @jskls, @Archanaanchan ,and @poovai I'm having hypothyroid and a skin disease for which cause isn't known. I have joined a yoga class, and taking up music lessons... following a good diet.. I'm trying to relax stress free, though feeling stressful... Thank you all. Will go to temples... Take up walks
One small suggestion. Instead of listening to Vishnu Sahasranamam, please recite it yourself if possible (along with the tape or if you can recite from a book) It is better when you chant it yourself.
