Cleaning Granite Counter-top

We've installed black granite counter-top for kitchen a few weeks ago. I used the 'Method' cleaner which they recommended but it is leaving very strong smell in the morning . From then I've been wiping down every night after work is done, with regular wet kitchen cloth only. But the original shine of the counter-top is gone.
I don't want to use much chemicals . What other solution can I use for daily cleaning and any tips for maintaining the same glossy look ?

Dear Kamala Ma'm,

I thought Windex was only for glass, as we use it for car & fireplace glass cleaning. I didn't know we could use it for counter-top too. I will also go through the link which you've given.
