Clarrification about pregnant

    Thanks sithara. Now i got little bit clear.got report and met doctor. Thyroid level is >150 (adults level : 0.35 - 5.5). Doctor told because of this ur pregnancy wil get delay.

    I dnt know sithara after heared this i am more disappointed. By god grace this time me and my h only met doc . Usually my mil also wil cme with me .

    Actually b4 mrge my petiods is not get delayed like this. After marriage only the cycle is got changed like 55 days. I did not get the throught pain also. I dont know how i got thyroid .

    Doctor adviced avoid chow chow, cabbage, rookal . After marriage i am eating these vegitables more.

    I have started to analyse the reason for this deceas. Can you plz tell me wr did u took the treatment for thyroid. I would také treatment . I am staying in guindy chennai .

    After reading ur post i got confident . From my childhood i didnt goto hospital i dnt know about decease and their treatment . Af Ter knows this got fear more. Cried to my h.

    Lets c.i shud fight with decease. I am doing work in home very well. I nevěří sit idle .

    Bhavi, this is not a disease, this is syndrome. Out of 100 every 50-60% women at earlier stage or later stage will get affected.
    Reasons many says hereditory. Only solution for this is having healthy lifestyle this applies to throughout your life. Have 3-4 vegetables,3 types of fruit, proteins and low carb. Exercise regularly for 40mins - 1 hr.

    In India; if DIL doesn't get pregnant within 1 yr then people surrounding us will give lot of advice. Take the ones which are good; ignore the others. Because this time you have to bring back your life to normal and healthy ;how you were before marriage tension free life.

    For women harmonies play very vital role and maintaining those is on us through healthy life.

    I so agree with renutn!

    I perfectly understand your anxiety; but PCOS is no disease. A diesease is something like HIV, Malaria, Flague and stuff. PCOS is something that needs attention and thank God, with proper care, a bit of modification in our lifestyle and medication - the situation can be altered. But you require will power for the same.

    I dont know, but are you slightly towards the overweight side? Usually ladies (including me) with PCOS and thyroid are towards the healthier side. Once you start making changes in your diet and start getting active (even if you are now; maybe your body needs more)- you will find a huge change and the best part- you will feel so good about yourself. Initially you might find it difficult, but then anything for your health and for you is good. I had a tough time when I started making changes in to my lifestyle. Esp last year, when I got more strict with my diet and exercise.

    I am a malayali and everything that was prepared in my house had rice or coconut. I didnt want to bother my mom more with my requirements so I used to prepare whole wheat bread sandwitches, salads, soups for myself and at times when I was too tempted would indulge in home made food. I used to work from 9 to 5 (had a long commutation); would reach back home by 6 and then straight head to the gym. Would work out for about an hour and then by the time i reach home; I was dead. The first two months seemed impossible; but when I started getting my periods regular, my tests going in the normal range- I got more motivated.

    I know we all want to lead a healthy life and trust me you are still healthy. There is nothing wrong with you; I sometimes feel thankful to PCOD- my lifestyle has become more healthier. I have got into the habit of eating healthy, exercising and stuff. And trust me, you will find the difference yourself...

    People will talk! Today if it is you, tomm it will be someone else. Why, dont we talk and gossip about the others. Dont worry what the people say, we have our probs and they aint aware of it- why that even includes your mother in law. It is a blessing that your husband is with you and is understanding.

    You will just be fine, there is nothing wrong with you. Concentrate on your health a bit more, research about PCOS, the dos and donts, what to eat and stuff. And within a few months you will feel very new. And dont worry about the pregnancy; just think this little extra time you are getting is because your mom wants a healthier mommy... and i am sure, you will very soon have your dream realised (at times, when things happen a bit late- you get the very best in life, so are the ways of life and God)...

    Your each word increasing my confident level. Thank you so much for that. yesterday i met thyroid specialist. He gave tablets. after two months he asked us to come back with new test report.

    yesterday i feel very healthier and spoke with my husband with smiley but from today morning i feel tired feel giddiness... again i back to that and thinking of whether this is happending because of thyroid... i am not ablt to come out from that.. from today onwards i strted to eat tablets.

    Still i dont know how i got thyroid.. i am active women. doing work very actively.. i asked doctor from when i got thyroid, he said we cant say that.

    in my bachelor life my weight is within 48 or 49. after got married my weight is got increased as 56. still i am seems like a slim, my height is 160 cm, weight 56.7 (yesterday they have taken this measurement). i didnt get the throught infection too...

    But my mother is having thyroid in feet. my husband is fully supporting for me in his home... he is the only person having confident on my health than me:-:)-(..

    hope my mind will get change very soooonnnnnn. i dont have time to do exercise. i am planning to go walking after came from office. is this is enough???? i am going to analyse about this in web.

    doctor did not tell do's and dont's. simply gave one letter pad. in that he says to be avoided foods:

    soya beans
    cabbage
    ice creams, cool drinks, fried foods,

    I simply informed to MIL as doctor gave tablets it will get decrease thats it... for this she is arguing with me as i am having this from starting you missed to do check up. if you find earlier now it will get decrease likt that.. i told no, after marriage only my food styles was changed now i got this like that.. she is not at al accepting my words then i leave that topic.

    i am hving one doubt if i got pregnant whether it will comes to my child?????

    I am praying god to recover this soon...

    the list your doc gave is right and i would include, mustard seeds (and oil) to that. and one important thing- a big mistake that i did for a while was that- i would wake up, take the thyroid medicine and go drink tea. in case your doctor hasnt mentioned this- please be careful, after you take the medicine (on empty stomach), you need give a half an hour break before you even drink coffee/tea. it seems our stomach needs to be empty so that the medicine can fully work well...

    there is no reason as to why we develop some conditions yeah, some ladies develop breast cancer? why? same like that- i wish we knew why we have thyroid, some say it is hereditary, my no one in my family has and i have it. it is just that our lifestyles have changed, environment and so many things have changed. i mean all this change from generation to generation- but the good thing is we are in a better position that we can detect and correct the situation. but if this was something in my grandmother's age, they might have not even known about this.

    some argue that in the olden days, all these conditions werent there; who knows- maybe it was there and they couldnt detect it. today we are able to test, detect and correct the sitaution.

    any activity to keep yourself active is good and walks are very good and powerful.

    like i mentioned earlier, your husband's support is a big thing. i understand you feel bad about your mother in law's comments; but they are older and we cannt change their thinking and outlook yeah. dont even argue back- when you say something, she will have something more to add and say. just stay quite and let she say what she has to. it can get difficult; but we being younger should just accept the fact that they are like that...

    you are fine, you are just ok.

    and yeah at times, with thyroid you do feel sluggish and tired. dont worry- once you get regular with the medications- you will be all the more better.

    and when you get preg.. you will have to continue with the medication. usually it is seen that your thyroid levels will increase in pregnancy and doctors will constantly monitor your levels and increase/decrease your dosage. you will do more harm to your baby if you dont take your thyroid supplements; because if the mother has a thyroid defficieny and not compensated with medications- then the baby's brain development gets hampered.

    many people had advised me not to take thyroid medicines during pregnancy; but listen to your doctor and for your peace of mind you can cross check with another doctor or medical professinal and most important have complete trust on your doctor.

    Thanks for giving very valuable advice. I will follow all the stuff. doctor did not inform about the way how to i should tablets and all. he gave one small tablet (there in bottle container) before breakfast and one tube tablet for both morning and night after food.

    Lets c. My friends are told that if you not able to eat tablets go for achupuncher treatment with the help of pressure they can cure your thyroid problems. since from childhood i did not take medicines and all i dont like tablets...

    do you aware about achupuncher treatment. anyway i have started to eat tablets from today. just want to know other options.

    Happend is happend. noone will change it. Life is a miracle we have to face each and everything.

    I am having one doubt. My thyroid level is >150 but doctor gave me 75 mg dose as tablet. based on the level of thyroid it should be increased right??? atleast he should give 100mg. I just want to aware about this..

    Hi Buvi,

    Just now i went through the thread. All have given you quick and needful suggestions which would have increased your confidence level. Right from my childhood my mom used to say me to take dates, pomegranate, plantain stem, plantain flower(mainly the centre part). These are very much useful for girls to have regular perioeds and better ovulation. Try taking these regularly. mainly you can consume plantain flower's center part as its very good for what they say in tamil "Garbapai" sorry i dont know the english version. As far as the posts i saw i felt you to be very down. Thought of helping you in some way.
