    Face your fears with self-respect....

A person whom we call courageous is not one without fear, but one who has learnt to face fear without fear. Fear is the fight between faith and belief in oneself on one hand, versus the negative idea or expectation you have about your future on the other hand.

You are literally fighting with your own positive and negative energies. On a dark night, a man was walking on a narrow path. Suddenly , his foot hit a rock and he stumbled and slipped down. He managed to catch hold of a branch hanging over the rock. The man tightly held onto the branch. He shouted for help but the only response was his voice echoing back. Hearing the echo, the man was terrified that he might be at the mouth of a huge abyss.

The night seemed endless and the man was desperately holding on, hoping he could get some help. Finally dawn arrived . The man looked down to see how deep the abyss was, but there was no abyss, just two feet down was a big rock!

Your fears are exactly like this, you think it is an abyss but it is actually just a few feet. If you can face your fears, you see they have no depth. Because you magnify the fears, you imagine them to be an abyss. It is your choice — to let go of the branch and the fear, or to keep clinging onto it and torturing yourself. Every time you feel fear, do not disrespect yourself . Don’t lose confidence or condemn yourself thinking, ‘What kind of a being am I?’

The fears that you have about your life, be it fear of failure, fear of losing your near and dear ones, fear of losing your wealth, fear of the unknown and every fear can be used as a door to enlightenment . If you understand the true nature of fear, it can be considered a blessing. If you are courageous enough to face the fear, it can lead you to liberation. Sometimes , just by switching your attention to something else, you can come out of fear. But that is not fearlessness.

Fearlessness means taking a quantum jump into the consciousness where you will never experience fear of losing anything ! Fearlessness does not mean non-existence of fear. It means the fear is there, but you have tremendous energy or courage to live with it and face it. Fearlessness means having the energy or the courage to live even with the maximum fear. It is going beyond that fear and being neither attached to nor detached from the fear. Be Blissful!

    The Three E's of Learning..

What are the three E's of learning? Well, the first E stands for Exposure. For example, when you go to a different place or area, you learn a lot by seeing different people and their style, eating different food, hearing different languages, and learning different religions. The second E stands for Experience. If you go to a bad hotel, or fly on a bad aircraft, then you experienced the hardship, and you learn that it is not a good thing to repeat. You learn a lot by experience. The last E stands for Education. I think you should know what Education means. "After all, you weren't born yesterday. Although if you were, welcome to the world, baby, and congratulations of being to be able to read at such a young age!" Out of 100%, Exposure is 40% of your learning, Experience is also 40%, and Education is only 20%!Of course, education is still very important, and you shouldn't neglect it.

The sad truth about banking career paths......

    • Operations and technology leads to India.

    • Sales leads to Glengarry Glen Ross.

    • Private banking leads to a rich spouse (retired trader meets young graduate, true love!).

    • Compliance leads to a filing cabinet full of forms.

    • Research leads to Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V repetitive strain injury from internet and annual reports.

    • Broking leads to strip clubs and depression.

    • FX leads to offshore tax havens.

    • Equities leads to insider trading charges.

    • Investor relations leads to lunches.

    • M&A leads to a single powerpoint slide with a line sloping gently upwards to the right regardless of the situation.

The Golden Rule to succeed in any of these is to talk about next quarter enthusiastically while making sure no one has any record of what you said would happen in the previous quarter. Repeat until fade.

Steve Jobs: CEO of the Decade....Rarely seen Steve Jobs

At age 21, in 1976, Steve Jobs co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak in Jobs' family garage in Los Altos, Calif. Jobs' father removed his car restoration equipment and brought home a wooden workbench that served as Apple's first manufacturing base. Jobs returned to the empty garage in 1996 to be photographed for Fortune.

He later launched a computer company called Next, where he stayed for 12 years before returning to Apple in 1997. Scully remained CEO of Apple until 1993.

Jobs and the Next board of directors meet in the company's Fremont factory in 1987. Ross Perot, the Texas entrepreneur who later ran for U.S. president, is seated fifth from the left in a dark suit, directly across from Jobs. Perot provided venture capital for Next.

In 1991, Fortune invited Jobs and Bill Gates to discuss the PC's future. Jobs was leading Next, and Gates was already a billionaire. They met at Jobs' Palo Alto home on a Sunday evening.

    all about Steve Jobs.com

In this ruthless corporate world the ability to make money for the company is regarded as the most valuable skill set irrespective of how u do it or what u do. Always balance sheet matters not mark sheets. remember the popular quote from lord of war movie "I had a flair for languages. But I soon discovered that what talks best is dollars, dinars, drachmas, rubles, rupees and pounds ****ing sterling. "
