Thanks for the reply. Every process will be done accordingly with time. The report came today only so out of curiosity I just googled it and found it serious. You are right its not giving any solution just giving the panic.

    Monika,
Atheletes normally have it because of rigorous excercise. Hypertension can also be a cause. But the recommendation in the US is to follow up and rule out all causes.
    So definitely follow up.
    Take care.

Thanks for considering. He is a diabetic and obese too. I read in net that a cardiac attack can occur at anytime to such patients. That's why getting worried and looking for what could be done.

Monika, please don’t worry. I understand your feeling because of my experiences.

Use reliable sites like webmd or Mayo Clinic for information. They have pretty updated information.

I am sure it will turn out to be nothing major, but for your peace of mind follow up with the doctor promptly . Take care.

Get a health check up, including work up for hypertension.

Why was the x ray done in the first place? If there are any symptoms like chest pain, a cardiologist consultation would be a good idea.

Ask him to work on his diet, exercise and healthy lifestyle changes.

He had a problem of severe cough from more than one month. And every time he used to get blank for few seconds. Doctor advised these tests. Yes this is an alarm and he too became alert. I can just hope for the best.

    Hello Monica,

I'm sorry to hear about that. These type of things are so scary.

From quick googling it is a condition that may relate to other issues

Enlarged heart - Symptoms and causes

My dad has heart murmur (not enlarged heart, but one of the conditions related to enlarged heart) and can manage with strict diet. I mean real strict (plus he is in early 70s).

Fruits, veggies, walnuts (these are most heart-friendly), whole wheat bread with very little meat. And he always has to tell Dr of his heart murmur before any procedure/surgery.

Most likely in your Husband's situation it is more manageable. You can search Youtube for "healthy indian recipes". I think lot of traditional Indian foods are too laden with fats and carbs we cannot burn in our modern society.

Also, be mindful of portions. Even on IL, the delicious foods posted are jumbo portions (one thali can be split amongst 3)

    Best wishes

    Hey monika, hugs to you.
Tell him to take a few days off and get himself checked up thoroughly .
Once the results are in ,plan to work on his problem .
Hope things are fine and this is just a warning for him to take care of himself better.
    Best wishes and take care.
