Can we study on H4 status? Or need to change to F1?

Hi ..
last week on i came in US on H4 visa..i am planing for MS..do i need to give any entrace exams as i am having 5 years of experience in IT field..plz suggest...

I just landed in us a month ago.i have h4 visa as my husband is working heree i just want to know is it necessary to take gre test before MS admission ???

Not sure if you found your answer already but just answering... Yes, you would need to take entrance exams GRE and TOEFL to get admission for MS in a public university. Work experience may not change this requirement for most good university programs.

GRE is required by almost all good MS programs here. It's used to see if newly admitted students can meet the standards of the department and university, so many of them have cut off limits to assess quality of applicants. But they also consider the strength of your overall file. Hope that helps

I am new to this forum and looking for the information for doing MS .I have shifted to US in May 2017 from India .
I do have 11 years of exp in IT field So below are my queries
1) IS it compulsory to give TOEFL ...GRE?
2) How to choose university
3) Since the previous replies are from 2008....2009 , do anyone have latest info
