My dd is now 3 yrs I'm daily giving her daal for lunch mixed either with carrots or spinach or beetroot is it ok to give dal daily to 3 yr old mostly i will feed dal 5 days a week my friends arer saying giving dal daily will cause gastric trouble in long run is it true? And another thing is while mixing beet root with dal the dal also not cooking properly how much i smash it it is not being smooth any tips
Pls dont give dal daily.. Its not good to have only that daily. You can practice her with many other varities. dont make her stick to that one thing.
Ensure the dal is properly cooked. Cook them seperately in case they dont get cooked together properly @padmapriya : Why not dal daily and its only given for lunch. Iam sure OP must be giving diff menu for dinner like chapathis, dosa, idli. I give dal daily to my 1.4 year old DS. (tur dal or moong dal) other variety dals also can be introduced.
Yeah I guess what chotabheem saying is correct. I mean as long as the dal is cooked I think you can add it daily in the diet. Esp for children as its protein. If there is any problem in adding dal please let us know the information... You can also add dal in rasam or sambar and give it if not directly...
I too use to give my 1.2 yrs DD dhal daily with mixed vegetables... My mom and grandma told me to add one small piece of garlic while pressure cooking.. so that you can avoid the gastric problem..i do that..
I have been giving dal daily to my DD right from when she was 7 months old. Since we are vegetarians, dal is one of the main protein source.
