Can I carry Oil from INDIA to US

    Hi ,

    I will be travelling to India next week.I was just wondering can I carry Coconut Oil (Around 1 liter)from India to US in check in luggage??Or will there will be any problem???

    I got 400 ml bottle of coconut oil from india...didn't face any issue.

    No idea on 1 ltr

    You get coconut oil here too...why do you want to carry something that you are not sure about and something you can easily buy here?

    Its bcoz we have our own coconut trees in india and my mom made some fresh coconut oil from those coconuts......We always like something very pure and fresh.........Isn't it??? :)

    Yes you can carry, I suggest put it in the luggage bag, I mean do not carry in flight in ur carry-on handbag, Wrap it in wooden or metal container and let it go in luggage.

    I myself got navratna and dabur amla hair oil from India :)

    I carried 1 litre parachute coconut oil can in luggage.not in cabin bag.no issues.

    any liquids more than 8 ounces(depends on the airline) have to go into check in luggage...so i think you can package it well so that it does not leak if the luggage is thrown, pushed, rolled(just in case) and put it in check in baggage...
