Since this evening I am experiencing an intense burning sensation in my left palm. It is not subsiding even after application of oil/cream. I have no food allergies/allergy to any soap. I know it may not be related to pregnancy, since I googled this ad found nothing. But please help me..It is becoming unbearable...

I think you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is extremely common during pregnancy. I have been suffering from this throughout my pregnancy in my right palm/fingers.
Google it and see TL, maybe its the same feeling you are experiencing?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is usually associated
With tingling, numbness, pain in FINGERS.
In the morning as soon as you wake up you
might experience numbness in the lateral 3 fingers,
tingling in the index and thumb. It's because
Of compression of Median nerve passing thru wrist,
Which is due to accumulation of water in your body
    during pregnancy( it's quite common)

You can try flexing and extending your fingers if above
    said is your case.
    Try to lessen salt intake.

If no numbness/ tingling and only burning might
be due to winter season, apply Vaseline through
    out the day and night.

    You could be right Vibha.

TL, my pins and needles pain extends from palms towards my fingers. So, if your pain is just in palms, maybe your doc can suggest something. But for me, pain starts from just above the wrist and extend all the way till the tips of fingers. My doctor diagnosed this as CTS.

    Hi tulip,
I also had palm itching/burning sensation. It was due to liver disorder.Have a word with your OB.I am not scaring you.I had this problem during third trimester. But nothing to worry:) Things will be fine.

Thank you very much for all your responses:) I applied some milk cream and icepack and it was gone. I will have to be watchful in case this happens again..I had also heard about the CTS. I sometimes have a lot of pain extending from my fingers right until my forearms (only in the right hand). I will check with my OB during my next visit...:hide:
