books to improve english

The best thing you can do is read to your kid English story books and encourage to ask meaning of the words he/she doesn't understand. Go to your local book store and ask them to show you books for 6 years old....then look for the storyline that might interest him/her. Lets say my kid likes cars then I will buy more books with car stories. I would also encourage him/her to look at picture books and tell you what he/she sees--that improves vocabulary.

Inculcating a reading habit is the secret of developing good English. If you want your 6 years kid to develop it, then, I recommend, 'Champak' English for him. It comes twice a month. Good for the kid. Language also would be nice and simple

 

I can recommend books on vocabulary but others can recommend on grammar and phonetics.

Nothing can come anywhere close to Merriam Webster's vocabulary builder.

Bible, when I say bible literally a book that you cannot travel, under pillow is , I received it as a prize for debate at school and since then bought 3 copies in 10 years , can swear by it these days ..the best book on 'English' curios.

Sorry I missed that 6 year old, is the English for adults and puzzles for kids in the first sentence as it was posted in 'Book Lovers'
