    Hi

Thanks for the informative post on sesame seed oil. In Tamil, it is called as 'Nallennai' - Nalla means good and ennai means oil.
So, this is a 'good' oil for all purposes. I was watching a videa of Swami Ramdev Yoga for women. He says that according to Ayurveda, the best oil for health is Sesame oil and coconut oil is only second to it, even for hair care! Somehow, in South, coconut oil seems to be more popular for routine hair care. However, if we recall, in traditional oil baths and during any auspicious occasion, elders ask us to apply nallennai only and then take bath.

Let us follow natural therapies and our elders' lifestyles and lead healthy lives.
    Cheers

Oil pulling or oil swishing, in alternative medicine,is a procedure that involves swishing oil in the mouth for oral and systemic health benefits. You should always use unrefined oil as it is less processed. The selling point for refined oils is that they can tolerate higher heat than unrefined oils, but I use unrefined coconut oil in all of my cooking.
