    Hi...... :hiya

Few days back there was a CRAFT FROM WASTE competition that was announced in my office ...but i had just a 2 day deadline for collecting things and to decide what needs to be done..so i decided to backoff but my friend pushed me and said that i def need to participate...and so i did

Earlier it was only me who was about to take part, then 3 of my friends(project mates) voluteered and helped me in completing all these work in 1.5 hours

Just an hour back received a mail that we won the FIRST PRIZE :banana

My theme was BOTTLE CAPS - which we ll get a lot during summer and i thought it would be apt to use that theme at this time of the year... ;-)

All items were made with bottle caps(plastic and soda bottle caps).Bottle caps were the base/main material used.

Along with that waste/unused cardboard(courier/cartons),unused waste cloth(kurti sleeves) ,spoiled decorative items, spoiled keychain, iron nails, waste wooden log and few other things( for decoration) were used

    Items made
    ..........................
    (1)Hair Band
    (2)Musical Instrument
    (3)Wind Chimes

PS::special thanks to the person(sorry i dont remember the username) who posted few links about recycle art with bottle caps in IL..it is only with her thread,i started to browse for ideas..thanks a lot dear friend Bow :thankyou2:

    Lets start with the Hairband...

    Procedure::
    --------------
(1)Took an old hair band(kid's size)..wrapped sattin ribbon...
(2)took plastic bottle caps(the metal cap edges could cause hurt, hence took plastic),wrapped them with old cloth(my kurti sleeves which i dint use) and decorated...simple one..

i had less time hence couldnt decorate much...

    next,
    The Musical instrument...

    this is like a trinklet..
    refered this link http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/family/musical-instruments-for-kids7.htm

    Procedure
    -------------
(1)For this i basically covered the old wooden log with the same kurti sleeves tightly(so that the log doesnt show and also the edges of log should not hurt the person holding it)
(2)did as per the instructions provided in the link and
(3)then decorated with all left over/damaged decorative items..

wow it def was an excellent and easy to make musical instrument...:thumbsup

PS::it takes less time to do this..within an hour this can be done..:)

the last but def not the least work was

    WIND CHIMES(definetely makes sound ;-))
    ---------------------------------------------

We arranged the caps in the spiral way..starting with 1 cap for the 1st thread,2 caps for the second and so on..........

For this along with the old metal bottle caps,we have used old carton/courier box, used crushed gift wrapper, broken keychain(in the centre),damaged decorative items...

this took a lot of time as we had to do balancing work and all..

    Have a look

We also wrote and gave what all materials we have used for these on the back side of a invitation card(recycling ;-))

Have already received few orders for making hairband/trinklet from my friends..infact the judge himself asked whether we are ready to sell this and he was more than willing to buy :)...
it was a lot of boost for us :)

    Waiting for your feedback :)
