Basboussa-takes 15 mins to prepare!

    [JUSTIFY]
    Ingredients
    1/2 cup unsalted butter
    3/4 cup caster sugar
    1/2 cup plain flour
    1 1/4 cup semolina
    1 1/2 cup grated coconut
    3/4 cup of liquid milk
    1 tbs baking powder
    1 tbs vanilla essence

    Decoration
    Almonds/Nuts (as you wish...)

    For the syrup
    1/2 cup caster sugar
    2/3 cup water
    2 crushed cardamon


    Preparation

    1. Syrup: place sugar, water and cardamon in saucepan. Bring to boil then simmer for 6-8 mins, then cool before chilling.
    2. Melt butter in saucepan, add milk and remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
    3. Pour mixure in shallow greased baking tin and flatten. Put in preheated oven (180 deg- 30/35 mins) until golden
    4. Remove cake from oven, cut in squares/lozenges. Pour cold syrup and decorate with almonds.
