re: Baby baths - equipment, techniques, tips...

    Hi Dolly

I massage oil on my baby's head and then just apply soap. I always keep cotton to cover his ears so that at least i can prevent much of water getting inside. I soap his front head and then with my left hand i lift him up a little bit and then soap the back side of head..Hope this helps..

    Hi all

Today i removed that sling and then filled water in baby tub and made Vinay to sit and i bathe him. He enjoyed that and was playing in water :)

Yaaayyyy!!!! I am glad he's happy and sitting in the bathtub and enjoying it.

Hey Dolly, I guess I didn't understand your question very well on headbath. I thought you were asking about how to give a headbath in the bath tub.

    Raj,
Thanks. I will try to bath her next time with the kitchen spray...
    San,
Thanks. Using cotton balls for the ears is a good idea. you can also try wiping a little petroleum jelly over the eyebrows so that water does not get into the eyes.. atleast not that fast..

That is a wonderful idea! I'll try it. But more than the eyes (since I use no tears baby wash), I am worried about the water going into the nose and the mouth.

Ya i cud try that :)
To avoid water getting inside nose i generally dont pour water on face, instead i rinse my palm and just wipe his face, inspite of that my naughty keep moving his hands, and rub his eyes with soap and keep on squeezing his eyes and if it is uncomfortable, he will cry!! I have to be superfast to wipe his eyes then, that too i rinse my hand, swing my hand in such a way that no excess water is in my hand and then wipe his eyes..

    Sandhya

I too use something similar to Raj's,but I use it in the bathroom tub,not sink.

Amazon.com: Summer Infant Mother's Touch Large Comfort Bather: Baby

I find this very useful. Also, just check one thing, when using cooton in the ears, doesn't it get soaked during bath? In trying to avoid water from getting into the ear, will it not be doing the reverse?

Yes Sunitha, cotton gets soaked with water, i do take it out in bet and squeeze to remove water and then plug his ears until finish the head part atleast.

Reg that Bather, does it have vent to let water out?

It is made of a net like cloth and so water just flows through. It is very convenient.I have even removed it thrice and washed it in the washer. After washing, just leave it back in its frame and it dries quickly.Quite cheap too! There are 2 level adjustments, one for lying down, one for sitting.
