    ATTRACTION FOR THE UNKNOWN

Vasco de Gama came to India. Columbus started in search of India but reached America. Prior to them lot of explorers had tried and vanished along with their ships in the deep sea. Some were marooned in isolated islands for years before they could be saved. But the spirit of knowing the unknown did not die. On the contrary the losses were taken as lessons for future expeditions.

Edmund Hillary with Ten Jing was the first to climb Mount Everest. There were many unsuccessful expeditions before this and continued after that also resulting into loss of life or limbs but the spirit of knowing the unknown did not die. Many have been engulfed in the deep ravines of The Great Cannon. The spirit of adventure has survived.

Our saints and sages tried all methods of rigorous meditation to know the ONE whom they believed existed but was not seen by anyone. Many failed due to death or illness but the spirit of knowing the unknown did not die.

There is always an attraction for the unknown. It starts very early in life. As kids we all were curios and inquisitives and kept on asking questions. As teens, this attraction for the unknown became more potent and not only asked questions but tried to find out for ourselves too. Fact is at no stage in life humans are free from this attraction for the unknown. Knowing the unknown may lead us to different paths like reading, travelling, listening, exploring and even risking all what we have.

One of the most trodden path in the quest of the knowing the unknown is finding an answer to the existence of God or otherwise. In principle all agree that there is some supernatural power that controls the universe. It leads to believe that only the creator of the universe can control it. It is not possible to control anything without going through the process of its creation. A car manufacturer only knows what went inside the car and thus knows to correct if something goes wrong with the help of trained personals. Creation and control of the universe is much more complex and there are no trained personals because there is no training center. The only way out is to go in search of the creator and learn from him. But he does not have an address.

The journey for knowing the unknown starts here. The believers call him God. After travelling far and wide in search of Him and realizing Him, saints and sages concluded that one can feel and see Him but cannot show Him to others. It is journey each individual has to take of his own. To make this easy to understand some said He is within us. Some said He is everywhere. The journey continues.

LONG LIVE THE SPIRIT OF KNOWING THE UNKNOWN.

Historically our urge to know the unknown has launched many ships on expeditions. Man has discovered new territories and launched sp[aceships to study unknown planets. But there is a limit to this spirit. We have toi draw a line between the unknown and the nonexistent..WE bshould not believe claims that non-existent tghings and beings are merely unknown.

A very nice and thought provoking write up.
However, I find this inward expedition is more difficult than the external expeditions though.

God is supreme energy or we can say It is the source of all energy. He is not within us or omnipresent. He is incorporial and his abode is up above the corporial world (corporial world is made of five elements) We hv to feel him by mind & intellect coz we cant see him by this five element's body. In Geeta, God himself tell if you want to realize me then "Manmanabhav" means Apna man muzme lagao.

    Dear Balajee,
Yes a lot has been found but still 98 % is unknown. It is notwithstanding the fact that only 10% of our brain is active and 90% is dormant.
It leaves no room for any limit. What was known yesterday may be nullified tomorrow. Already Darwin's theory of evolution is under scrutiny. We still believe there is life in some other planet. Big Bang theory is still not conclusive.
Forget about these big theories. They said eggs are not good for health and now they say it is. Sunday ke Sunday ande hi ande!!! So is about coffee.
I thinks even if there is law to stop further search for the unknown, attraction for the unknown will break it.

Thanks. No doubt. Inward expedition is too tough. It needs total honesty and dedication.

True. Geeta is the guide to understand Him and reach Him. However I do not know how He is not within us or is not omnipresent. If He Omnipotent and Omniscient He is Omnipresent also. How else He will know us and protect us. To be Omnipresent, He resides within us in the form of our soul.
Well we are only seekers and that is crucial.

This is my churning abt God that if he is within us in the form of soul then why sins are increasing day by day?He is ocean of love n bliss. In epic Geeta he introduce him very well. If we remember him, he will guide us and liberate from this chaotic world. He is supreme father ( Paramatma) of all souls.
