    Ladies,
I have a quick question. Is it possible to cut the border of a pattu (Kanchipuram) saree and in it's place attach a border of another color and do embroidary on that?

The saree that i got has a gold zari border which i don't like. I am thinking of cutting of the gold border and instead add a green border and do zardosi, kundan, chamki and gold thread work on that?

Please let me know if this is possible or not? Will this cutting and attaching make the saree look ugly or is there any possibility that the attachement might come off later? Did any one do this kind of stuff?

    Thanks,
    Sabbi

    Dear Sabbi...

I dont know tailoring but i would say from my personal experience is that please dont try all this cut work especially on a pattu saree(pretty costly)

I would not say that it wud spoil the look but i believe it might not stay for a long time...better is to do zardosi, work on the border attached..
