    I have no answer for what Jai would have done in that case as I never thought about the story from that angle.

    That's something to think about, isnt it? True that it would be more challenging, but even the current story line is challenging given our social setup. Priya's character would be questioned even now by her conservative in-laws. Jai remarrying with two adult kids might have been ridiculed. Their age difference might have also been criticized. But, what mattered most is their determination to find their happiness amidst all those!
    And yes, a few genuine friends come to our rescue in those trying times.
    So, even in a scenario like the one you have mentioned, the determining factor would be what the lead characters felt and wanted, though the battle ground would be a little different :)

    Exactly...Second marriage especially when one has kids is tough. One has to raise above the criticism's to find the happiness.
