Can someone please tell me where I can buy DMC / Anchor brand embroidery threads preferably in Adyar area.

I am new to chennai, as is my interest in painting. You seem to know a lot bout art stores in here. But i am confused which store to choose..

Can u provide me with 1 or two store names which can provide good quality painting materials of all sorts like paint brush, paper , canvas, water color /acrylic/oil paints (water color is wat i am opting for as a beginner, and lookin forward to take up acrylic n oil as a medium too..) etc.

A store like one stop shop and providing good quality materials which can be used by beginners as well as professionals...

i was surprised on how you gathered so much of info from u.s.a.
i was infact fed up with the poor quality of items in pandian stores,ranganathan street. then i started shopping in raja thread stores, ranganathan street. there are a lot of variety items, but service is extremely poor. so i am now happy that i have good choices around city to look for better craft shops.
