Are marriage counselors in USA good for India marriage problems ?

Will marriage counselling in US help an indian couple ? Can american or other country counselors understand indian society way of thinking and expectations ?

Its tough to expect foreigners to understand the typical arranged marriage, dowry and DIL /MIL expectation issues of our society.
But they can help in all other areas like EMAs , DV as well as other problems which cut across all cultures.
No harm in taking their advise , it can only help.

It didn't help me. You could try a person of Indian origin.. unless they are totally americanized.

i dont think they can be of much helpful.......because we hav our own culture and tradition.......it is hard to make them understand all the rituals, culture when it comes to marriage

It is very difficult for the US people to understand Indian culture of marriages... Our culture, way of thinking, etc is completely different from them.. They are far ahead of us, they are very broad minded also.

They cannot understand dowry problem as well..

May be issues on ext. marital affairs would help...
