    Hi,

    We are moving to Boston by end of this year and now we are looking for apartment around MIT- Harvard as my husband will be studying there. Can you please suggest me some nice areas to leave around MIT which is safe as we have a 5 month old child. Also is it possible to get a apartment within $900 as my husband is studying. R there job oppurtunities for Chemical engineer?

    Hi, I am in Boston from the last 5 yrs. Getting a apt near MIT will be quiet expensive as it is the main downtown area and rentals market are at a high. Maybe u can look out for a apt in quincy or woburn which are next city to boston and have a T connection and so will be easy on the travel for ur hubby too.If u have a toddler try coming maybe in feb mar time frame as from Dec to feb there is heavy snowfall here and maybe ur kid may have trouble adjusting to the climate . As far the job concern the job market is pretty dead here....maybe once he finishes his degree he will get a good offer as MIT degree has a good value. :thumbsup

    Thanks for the suggestions. I will start looking for apartments in Quincy and Woburn. Do you know any apartments in those areas.

    Try in waltham area too, its near by to Harvard university.

    I greatly appreciate all the help. I wanted to know if we can get 1 BHK at $ 1000 in those area.

    Also if you could recommend me some good apartments, I will look through them

    Hi,

    I have one more question. I was informed by the agents that since we have a 6 month old, we need to rent only 2 BR apartment. Is that compulsory rule or something that depends from agent to agent.

    Also when we started looking apartments online, we felt that apartments at watertown was cheaper. Is that area good for people with kids?

    Hi,
    It is required to get 2BR apt when you have a baby.

    Watertown is near to downtown and I am not sure if you would find many Indian community over there.
    It would be good to take apt near Indian community when you have small kids and that too if you are not working.
