At what stage in IUI do you start using progesterone suppositories? Can I get them in US without prescription. Since I've tested positive for pregnancy I started experiencing cramps and mild lower back pain. May be I am being too paranoid .

    Hi @GodMySavior

I was prescribed progesterone after one week of iui. You can't get progesterone suppositories over the counter in US. It has to be prescribed by your doctor based on the blood test results. After 2 weeks of iui, I went for a blood test where they confirmed my positive pregnancy and my progesterone levels were still low. I had to use progesterone in oil injection also. It has improved my progesterone levels but Unfortunately it ended in chemical pregnancy since my hcg levels dropped.

Sorry to hear that. I was planning to take an appointment with a gynac, I called the office and looks like they dont give appointment before 8 weeks into pregnancy unless there is any obvious sign of miscarriage(in that case too i am asked to report/call nurse triage). I am worried and need to talk to a doctor soon. What should I do? Now I wonder if positive home pregnancy test mean anything at all?
Also mine is insemination at home, do I need to disclose it to doctor. I want them to consider it as any other pregnancy.
Sorry for bombarding you with so question. Any guidance is highly appreciated.

    Thanks you!

In which week are you in?
Since mine was iui , my doc monitored it week by week. Am not so sure about how to contact doctor in your case. Sorry I couldn't be of much help. Don't take any stress.

@GodMySavior - Progesterone is not required for everyone..It is given during fertility treatment and for women whose progesterone is less.. Check on the day ur period is due with hpt again.. Cramps are normal during pregnancy.. No problem until the cramps/back pain are too heavy or bleeding.
