Anyone Like To Join With Me To Do Intermittent Fasting.

    Any tips for a more accurate tracking of weight at home? A few I can think of:
    - Use a good quality digital bathroom scale.
    - Weigh yourself at about the same time every day if measuring only once.
    - Weigh yourself a few times with and without clothes, so you know the average weight of your clothes.

    Thanks so much for the detailed reply @Rihana
    I don't really have to lose so much weight as of now. But a few pounds here and there would make my body look perfect.
    Nevertheless, I must do something for body discipline, because I don't eat healthy foods, follow bad timings and no exercise.
    As long as I am in my early 30s, nothing went wrong. But now, I've just crossed mid 30s, and feel like bloated.
    I have hormonal imbalance, hair loss and what not. I feel like this is the best time to make a positive life style changes,

    Weighing self is very tricky.

    The scale shows some weight as soon as I woke up in the morning. Then after the nature calls, and morning refreshment, the weight is much lesser.
    The same scale shows a couple of pounds more if weighed in the afternoon or night.
    Also, I never thought the cloths that I wear could increase more than a Kg in the total weight.
    But my buddies always deduct 1-2 kgs or even more (if they wear denim cloths) from the total weight

    You cant add Milk in fasting hours due to lactose it will spike your insulin the fasting aim is to keep the mode of insulin down & use the stored fat as energy. adding a little cream of milk means a fat source. Generally, fasting is done with Water for good benefits. Cant add any sweeteners too. Try to get used for the Black Coffee or Black Tea or Green tea, Water these are the best sources of drinks can have in fasting hours. When you are doing IF aim for the healthy choices of food and balance the electrolytes(Sodium, Potassium, and Magnesium).

    If you are new to fasting start with 12-hour fasting try to increase daily an hour by the end of the week you can able to do the 16-hour fasting, Cream of Milk is different and Milk is different. Cream of milk is a fat source to just fil the hunger pangs.

    From my experience, I can say try to keep yourself busy with work in fasting hours, slowly adopt the fasting to your lifestyle. Always choose healthy food every calorie is energy to function your organs so choose a healthy one. When the body is in ketosis only the stored fat will be used as energy. Avoid Junk Food, Processed foods, Sugar, Regular salt, any sugar beverages, Stick to home food, try to add Nuts & Seeds in your food. Electrolytes are more important like sodium, Potassium, and Magnesium they play key role in our daily life you may have Initial flu-like dizziness, constipation, etc eat more fiber-rich foods, drink plenty of water minimum 3ltr water is necessary. Don't tell your family & friends you are doing fasting. You can be active in social networking communities like fasting groups for accountability.

    Hi all,
    Slowly I started avoid adding sugar in black coffee. Still follow 16:8 IF. Past Few days I am not feeling hungry when finishing fasting period. Only thing is, since I am homemaker my mind keep on checking whether I am hungry or not in morning. It makes me to feel hungry but somehow I control myself I eat at 11 am.

    After watching the video by Dr. Becky (post #46), I read up some more about having milk, cream and dairy products when fasting.

    So far, I never cared much, other than switching to 2% milk some years ago and then 1%. I like how IF is slowly making me look into the intake, at my own pace, with no strict restrictions and more of guidelines.

    Had to do some quite some googling to get the figures {no pun intended} I was looking for, but found it. Macronutrients and calorie comparison of the different types of milk and cream:

    Also, talked with my doctor. Got the go-ahead to try longer fasting. 18 hrs... 24 hrs... autophagy.. here I come. : ) Slowly but surely. : ) First step, learnt how to pronounce autophagy. It is aw-tof-uh-jee. No pause between auto and phagy.

    Coffee with 2% hot milk (if not whole milk) produces a heavenly foam on a Madras Filter Coffee decoction. A couple of good cups of coffee can make a girl go on and on without eating anything else for a long long time.
    Eating of the self reminded me of our forum's @Ouroboros [The ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a snake or serpent eating its own tail, variously signifying infinity and the cycle of birth and death].
    Ponder: Can vegans/vegetarians permit autophagy ?​
