Hi gals,
a very useful thread indeed. I myself am not a very clean-conscious person. husband is the most absent minded person who leaves things in very odd places. So the burden of keeping the house clean is completely on me. (Son is studying in another city). More over, I travel and go out often and that makes it even more difficult to maintain the house. The most important thing is- I never have people come over to my place. So just imagine what my house would look like. But I can find things easily in this clutter also, that is another thing.
I would like to suggest some things here. I have gone thro only 5 pages of this thread. So if my any of my tip has already been posted, please do excuse me.
1. When one container is taken down from th shelf, wipe its seal with a damp cloth. This way the tops of containers are cleaned almost daily.
2.When you buy new clothes, discard the same number of clothes- give it to charity or just throw away. This way we can keep a check on old clothes piling up.
3.make a list of things in the fridge/freezer according to the date they will expire and stick it to the fridge with a magnet. They repetetive purchase of the same thing can be avoided and also it will be helpful for deciding the menu everyday.
4. The same as 3 goes for grocery also. I keep many things in a large container as it is impossible to store all the things in separate containers. Have a list on the outside of this container also.
