    I wish to learn. Heard it sharpens the brain.

    Somehow, I feel very intimidated. How do I know which piece to move first?

    Please share experiences.

    Look into chess software for your PC or Mac or try online games - Online chess.
    You can play against the computer and set the level from beginner to grandmaster. Some versions will "teach" you. You can also try chess problems. There is a LOT of material on the web, like this one.

    I am a hardcore chess lover and am addicted to chess.com . For me, the game helped improve my concentration. I also enjoy the thrill of making a 'move' or 'counter move' . You can learn the rules and take baby steps online. Just google 'learn to play chess' and you will get lots of useful info.

    I am playing against a chess app. So far I have been defeated by the computer :-(
