Sunny was kicking the imported sofa in sheer frustration. He is the only son of the ace cricketer and can be cited as a perfect example for a spoilt kid. He stopped going to school, after failing in class 8 for the second time. His father was always busy with his full itinerary and his mother was no match for him. If Sunny ever feared someone, it was his father earlier.

Now his private teacher too was included. Suryanarayan, a retired headmaster of the school in which Sunny's father studied, had kindly agreed to teach Sunny. For security concerns, Sunny's father pleaded him to come to his home for teaching, which he accepted. Suryanarayan had his own way of teaching which is not pedagogical, yet, it required an amount of discipline which Sunny hated.

And he was to undergo 3 hours of 'torture' on alternate days, which he loathed. He was supposed to write the exams privately and the date was not far away. He knew that his father would not permit him to stray away, but wanted to skip them. He faked a fever and let his mom tell the teacher that he wouldn't be able to attend the classes that week. The teacher came, had a look at him and said, "Think a bit ahead Sunny! If you miss classes like this, you will fail for sure, for the third time and that would be a shame. And..", he hesitated. Sunny did not say a word.

And, as expected, he failed again. His father did not say a word, neither reprimanded him, but grimaced and left. That hurt Sunny a lot. His teacher came. Sunny could contain mo longer and was crying and trying to explain. The teacher wiped his tears and said, "Fine Sunny! Can we start?!"

Yes. Thanks for your feedback Viji madam. To be frank, I realized that this piece was not written well, so left as such by the readers. It shows your kindness that you responded to this too. -rgs
