@Laks09 is there a "general questions" thread in Keep Fit sub-forum? General question - if one wants to do simple exercise regularly (4-5 times a week), on a treadmill, or a brisk run outdoors, without Fitbit or calorie/steps etc tracking apps, without having to understand how body burns fat and kinds of fat... about 30-40 minutes each time, burning about 200-350 calories... So you get the idea.. just basic ordinary exercise.. just to remain healthy/active, and to be able to honestly say "yes" to the "do you exercise" question at the next annual wellness checkup... If such exercise is the intention, then, i) does it matter at what speed one jogs? ii) should one sweat profusely each time? Not much sweat means did not exercise (intensely) enough? I am looking for simple answers to the two questions... no links to health and medical articles to read and understand (Soka, I am looking at you. ) Thank you.
I didn't think of it until now. Will create one soon! (i) Speed doesn't matter. I've read that slower jogs are better for the heart if that's the main form of exercise. I am sure that speeding up will hurt joints and increase chances of injury. I routinely hear running coaches suggesting to slow down unless trying to beat a PR and even then follow a proper plan. (ii) Sweating isn't necessarily a measure of workout intensity. Some people just seem to sweat more than others. My friend and I have been running together for four years now. She is soaking before the first mile and I look like I've walked around the block after six. Our watches suggests calorie burn close to each other. I never wear my watch anymore. Hers is enough to track my mileage and burn. I hope this is simple enough explanation
If you are new to jogging, start jogging as slowly as possible. You shall be able to do it for longer and gain greater satisfaction from the entire exercise. You can increase speed as you become a regular and become familiar with your jogging body. Wait at least three hours after a meal before jogging. Try and jog on a natural rather than an artificial surface. When it comes to shoes, I prefer those with minimal cushioning in the sole. It's important to do some stretching exercises before and after your jog. Just Google to find out more. It's quite likely you shall work up a sweat jogging, no matter the speed. Don't think too much about it, just start doing it. It's a great experience.
Eulogy Of Love Wife Asks "how Is Dinner?",... After posting a thread on how love might (wither or even) die on a bad compliment on the food one had made/served, I noticed the eulogy thread just ahead in the list.
