A Real Man (from Chennai, of Course!)

This post may be repetitive because few months ago, I wrote about being kidnapped by ego, but what the heck, when the rivers of writing are flowing, you don't stop it with a dam.

There are males who dress well, go to the gym, know how to talk as if they know what they are talking about, live in an impressive part of town (even though they took out a loan they cannot pay) and even call themselves "men", yet, they behave like children.

They neglect their duties. If their wife is in trouble, they let her handle it because she is a "liberated" woman. If their children are in trouble, they don't bother because they need "me time".

Yet there are other males who look unassuming, wear the same old thing day after day, yet when their expertise is needed, they deliver. And they know how to fight back when they are being pushed over. And they are likely to get pushed over more because of their unassuming appearance. Because of their heavy foreign accent. Because they don't brag about their house in a nice part of town. And when they are pushed, Oh Boy, do they push back!

This one man was coming back from Chennai, and his wife and kids were supposed to follow few days later. However, the wife and kids were bumped from their flight because of some other passengers in UAE who were higher priority.

Boy, did this man fight! He was on the phone. He expressed his frustration very clearly, yet he remained calm. He was courteous to the representative answering the phone, who was trained to read from a script. He persisted in speaking with the supervisor.

I am so impressed that he stayed calm. He explained that his wife is all alone with the kids in Chennai. The kids are fed up and they want to come home.

Man, you don't push this man!

To all the men who take care of us women (no matter how liberated or how educated we are), Thank You!!!
