    Dear Mindi,

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful bond - between you and your MIL. A MIL is the mother of the person we love so much and lucky are the ones who get an understanding one. I can honestly say that I do miss my MIL terribly and can with out hesitation say my life would have been so much better with her presence in my life. oh well, it brought back so many wonderful thoughts of both my mom and MIL! So perhaps I will spend the day thing of them.....not that I need an occasion but still I know what I am missing!

I didn't want writing so many personal things but like always you managed to get it out of me....again!

    have a lovely Mother's day!

thank you my dear paddy.. very true it is just a flow of thoughts :)))

This I want to share with you all and never think I am blowing my own trumpet.
I will never think that of you for I know you quite well by now. L is lucky indeed that you have stood by her . Not any MIL's would have done that.

One day I hope she will also write like you Mindi! Just kidding .

hahaha why should she write? probably she is saying the same things to all her friends in office.:)

    Dear Mindi,

You are blessed to have such a wonderful MIL. And she was more a mother to u than an MIL. i guess even u dont know what u did good that u got blessed with her.

When my daughter got married, a few days after marriage they were leaving jaipur for indonesia, we were bidding them all goodbye, for their flight was from delhi, and her FIL said, dont bother to come all the way to delhi, its 6 hrs by road one way and another 6 hours back to come, we are there ,dont worry, yr daughter wont get lost on the way.

And i saw my wife crying, talking with the MIL. i got scared, wondering marriage has just happened and the fireworks have already started eh !

later my wife told me, that the MIL was telling her, harsha dont worry, she is going from one mother's house to another mother's home, which made my wife weep, and i too did, so touched we were.Today they are very happy god bless them.

There are a few good MIL's around eh ! Mindi. So we cannot brandish all of them with the same brush, and we wish there are more such good ones around.

    Regards

    kamal

    Dear JAG,

how have you been? ages since I saw you anywhere in snippets. thanks dear.:)

. whatever happens between us stays between us(Las vegas style)...

    LOL
my MIL stays out of the conversation and simply says .."I have two daughters ..I don't have any DIL ..so I dont have much to say."
She is a very sweet lady and I am incredibly blessed to have her in my life.

Honestly, it feels so nice to hear that. Some women have real class and I think it is more important than anything else.

Wow, Mindi, your MIL seems to have been a great teacher in the school of life. In the short period with her she seems to have taught the a great lesson called life. Such gems are rare/ Too bad she didn't live long enough.

    Dear Mindian,

Not many DILs are blessed with such wonderful MIL such as yours and not many MILs are blessed with DIL like you to write such a wonderful tribute about her. Mostly the relationship goes south when MIL tells, "My son will listen to me more than you" and when DIL tells, "My husband would listen to me more than anyone else". A man is indebted to his mother for her unconditional love and for parenting him whereas he is also indebted to his wife for parenting his children and for her unconditional love towards him. These relationships are not competitive but complementary.

A good MIL will treat her DIL well in order to keep her son happy. A good DIL will keep her husband happy by treating his mother well. A good husband will make an effort to make both happy to the extent possible. If any one of MIL or DIL asks him to choose between them, he gets into trouble and he ends up choosing one.

A mother has to understand when her son marries a woman, he has taken a vow to take very good care of her during his entire life just like what her husband did when she married him. She has to facilitate her son achieve that objective and not be a hindrance to his objective. Similarly, both husband and wife have responsibility to take care of their respective parents during their life and hence neither wife should object to her husband taking care of his parents nor husband should object his wife taking care of her parents. If these principles are well understood by everyone, life will be peaceful and healthy.

I feel you are a very blessed soul and so is your MIL.

    Dear Sabi,

I guess with age we realise how much we miss having a mother figure in our lives. when young we are all trying to prove ourselves but as our children grow up we need elders to share our joys and pains, childrens achievements .Elders do make our family complete and glad that you think so too, Sabi.:)

hahhah so typical of us to have such thoughts, isnt it? glad that your daughter has got into a loving family.
