    hi mothers,

can u give me suggestions or advice? my elder son is 4 yrs old this year and i noticed that he is snoring alot. it was not loud but loud enough to interrupt ur sleep . i believe it can go louder as he get older.
i tried changing his sleeping position to sleep on his side but he still snores soft on his side. he doesnt snore when he is sleeping on his back.
his father snores too. can it be genetic?
    how to overcome this?
he is fairly to be on healthier side, 23 kg and quit tall as well. he can make up to be 5 yrs old.

    Hi Shantana,
Is your son started snoring now or is it from birth. My DS was snoring (sounds alike) from birth and we checked with paedeatric. They adviced to meet an ENT and took a scan. ENT specialist informed children have tonsils like thing in the nose which gradually reduces. If it doesnot reduce as time goes(for some that may take until 10-11 years), these have to be removed by surgery.

My son is now going to be 4 years and he donot snore.

At this age tonsils and adenoids grow faster and bigger adenoid might case this snoring. Consult your pediatrician and ENT specialist. Take care of his weight also.

Shantana, I agree with others. You need to take him to the ENT specialist. Sounds like tonsils.

Consulting a doc is the best thing to do.But try removing his pillow while sleeping, sometimes wrong sleeping postures also cause snoring.

Does he have nasal congestion or cold. It could be the reason too if it's only recent.
