The friend then reluctantly filed the complaint .However; the punishment to this heinous crime committed by SPS.Rathod was given after a 19 year struggle for justice by the parents of the victim. While the matter was pending in the court Ruchira Girhotra committed suicide as she could not tolerate the harassment by the police authorities, Politicians. Her younger brother was arrested under false allegations and the family was severely harassed due to which they had to leave their home town.

After all this the criminal was charged and punished for just six months. This is the justice Ruchira Girhotra and her family members received..
