துப்பாக்கி - Thuppakki - Vijay after a long time

yes vijay looked damn handsome.. and the movie was very stylish... i went with a fear of watching a typical vijay movie... but it was good.... though kajal agarwal sequences looked inserted it still brought sme lightness to the movie.. there was no logic at times.. but who needs logic when its really interesting to watch.. afterall its a movie...

 

Thupakkai is a feel good movie, I must say, it's vijay at his best.....Very Stylish movie.....For Vijay, unlike all his earlier flops, this movie had some interesting elements. I think it made a difference because of Murugadoss......Good comedy in few places, Satyan is making his mark into the industry slowly now....Jayaraman , even though wasted in this movie, his scenes manage to elicit some laughter. Drawbacks were tooo much unwanted songs and lengthy fights, still the movie is watchable for the entertainment it offers!!!

Ajith on Thuppakki :

After the recent success of Thuppakki, Vijay and A.R.Murugadoss are understandably elated.

Box-office returns and reviews have been positive from day 1.

Recently, Ajith took some time out to congratulate and wish Vijay as well as Murugadoss on their success.

He was impressed with their work and was profuse in his praise.

Both of them were elated at this gesture from Ajith.

Ajith and Vijay are known to be close friends in real life inspite of being
professional contemporaries.

This news is bound to get both sets of fans, who are often at loggerheads
with one another, delighted.

 

By watching the trailers it self I felt its a feel good and Stylish movie..
For the 2nd time vijay movie got dubbed directly in telugu and released at a time along with tamil version..

Good hear a good feed back for Vijay after long time..

 

Saw this movie today in Pune...

Somehow theatre was not as full as we expected.

movie is nice, though it reminded me of many similarities from the movie "Force" starring John Abraham, Genelia, and Vidyut (same guy who is the villain in this movie too)...

Felt scenes with heroine somewhat kiddish and not required, esp songs....

but overall, good one time watch especially the planning part of vijay

vidyut could have been used better...(for reference, check the movie force..)

 

Action-thriller 'Thuppakki' collected Rs.65.32 crore worldwide in its opening week.

"The film collected Rs.65.32 crore worldwide in the first week. In Tamil Nadu, 'Thuppakki' raked in Rs.40 crore and above in the first six days and it continues to run to packed houses. It is also doing good business in neighbouring states such as Kerala and Andhra Pradesh," trade analyst Trinath told us.

The film, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, opened on Diwali, November 13, and hit over 1,000 screens worldwide.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Thuppakki' collected Rs.1.18 crore in Britain, Rs.1.76 crore in the US and Rs.37.99 lakh in Australia, in its opening weekend.

The movie's story is about a captain from the Indian army, played by Vijay, who is on a vacation in Mumbai and gets involved in a terrorist scheme, which turns out to be bigger than anticipated.

The makers had to cut a few scenes from the film a few days after its release in Tamil Nadu, following concerns raised by members of the Muslim community who felt that certain scenes would hurt their sentiments.

"Some scenes were cut following the protest, but that hardly had any impact on the film's run at the box-office," Trinath added.

Kajal Agarwal, Satyan, Mano Bala, Vidyut Jamwal and Jayaram feature in key roles in the film, which has music by Harris Jayaraj, cinematography by Santosh Sivan and editing by Sreekar Prasad.

 

Its actually A.R.Murugadas who shines once again with Vijay's co-operation..

Without few songs, the movie could have been much faster

 

Sorry to have a different opinion but I did not like the movie. It was Okay.
