Grabby,, delicious vadais, Sunitha! I had a hearty laugh too.
So, you have proved that necessity (to use up the paste) is the mother of invention (vadais!!). Nandhu will comment, we are one set of horses at IL! :)
    Love,
    Chithra.

Potato Sambar is one of most favourite dishes, though called a sambar without puli!!
Your combo is no doubt a feast, GK!

    Dear Chithra,
I was wondering- with the temperature shooting up in Chennai, why don't we try iced teas with different flavoring. Do you have the recipes for that? Buying seems to be very costly. Can you please post the recipe for iced teas?

    Lemon Cake

    Dear Chithra Mam,

I need some help on making lemon cake. :help .I was referring to your Lemon Cake recipe given in http://www.indusladies.com/forums/ask-chitvish/805-cook-n-bake.html

Tooooooooooooo tempted to try it out, but have few doubts. They may be too silly, pls excuse me. Just want to be clear before trying.

    1) Using a food processor for beating, will that do better than beating/mixing with hands? Or is it fine doing whole process with hands itself?

    2) Do I need melt the butter before adding it, else can I add the butter sticks directly.

    3) I see that you have asked to add alternate layers, so before putting in pan, dont I need to mix everything Maida, Lemon-Curd, Butter-Sugar "together" at all? Is this like a layer cake Mam?

    4) I understand I should make Curd-Lemon mixture and Butter sugar mixture separately. It is given "Now add alternately curd-lemon juice mixture & maida mixture alternately, taking care to avoid overbeating.Put immediately in the tins" But when do I add the butter sugar mixture?

    Love,
    Sowmya

    Re: Lemon Cake

Sowms, I will be very haapy if you try this because it is a cake with a lovely flavour & none has tried so far :-(

Unless I specify, please do not use FP for all cakes. For this use an electric hand beater. If not, beat with a wooden spatula using hand. (ThOL pattai konjam vittu pokum!)
First beat sugar (powdered in mixi) with soft butter (not melted) very well till they blend.
Keep the other 2 mixtures separately.
To the sugar-butter mixture, add alternately both mixtures, beating as you add. Do this gently just to blend. Over beating will affect the texture of the cake.
Please get back if doubts persist.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Mrs C
In the gobi 65 recipe , do we need to make a batter with little water, dip the florets or just the dry powder with the florets . Will the moisture in the cauliflower hold the powder tight ?
Thanks in advance for the clarification
