I am writing this for my sister.

She is pregnant now and has got a lot of stretch marks on certain parts of her body.

She is desperate now because of this. Can anyone give suggestions in getting out of this problem?

A stretch mark appears for 95% ladies during pregnancy.
Do ensure that your weight is not increasing beyond a certain level.
It reduces the elasticity of your skin and hence stretch marks can appear.

Stretch marks, skin discoloration, scratching etc some of the major problems during pregnancy. This is due to the increase in the melanin pigment during pregnancy period. After delivery it automatically disappears, say after 1 month or so. Deep breathing exercise is a remedy to this problem. The exercise should be started from four months onwards.

Try using vitamin E ointment to the area where you might think stretch marks can appear.
For example, Stretch marks are likely to appear on areas like belly, breasts, thighs etc.
Vitamin E ointments are good even for preventing scratching.

Cocoa Butter & Vitamin E oil for treating stretch marks

    Hi Megha,

Ask your sister not to worry about stretch marks. Many women get this during their pregrnancy. It can be lightened considerably by treating them with cocoa butter and vitamin E.

A lotion containing cocoa butter (try Palmer's cocoa butter massage lotion) is to be used every time after shower or bath. Atleast twice a week, apply vitamin E oil on the areas and keep overnight.

    Love,

    Roshni

    Reduce stretchmarks

I recently saw this in a 'women's health' magazine.

Applying olive oil mixed with little lemon juice can reduce Stretchmarks. Leave it for half an hour and then rinse with cold water.

    stretch marks!

Sorry to dishearten you,but I too am a victim of stretch marks.I had tried all creams/ointments for same but till date it has not disappeared(It is 3 yrs now).

I heard that sometimes it is hereditary. Some people don't get stretch marks at all!!!
In my family ,my grandmom, mom, aunts all have it.So I too have it and the doctor told me that whatever you do,it is not going to go!!!.So frankly I stopped trying.

    hi all,

There is an ointment called NO MARKS by Ozone Ayurvedics. I have heard that it is good for scars, marks, blemishes, under eye circles, and hyperpigmentation. those with stretch marks can try that. My friend had hyperpigmentation marks on her face and now it has become very light. I think it is available in indian shops in US, as it is available at my place
