So I recently found a book on Amazon, by Sudha Murty. It’s a compilation of women in Hindu mythology. Sound interesting actually. Has anyone read it? The Daughter from a Wishing Tree https://www.amazon.com/dp/0143442341/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ivWSDb20KYNQZ
I started reading this book as part of my book club. The chapters regarding Draupadi and Radha are quite interesting.
Got the book. Each chapter is only about 12-15 pages, looks like. Plan to read those two by the weekend. Been wanting to read a good Draupadi analysis for a while now, after The Palace of Illusions. The other women written about in the book are: Ambapali, Raziya Sultan, Meerabai, Jahanara, Laxmibai and Hazrat Mahal
It’s an easy read, but I definitely prefer the Draupadi and Radha chapters. The others are less familiar to me, and the author fails to dive into analysis.
