I’m looking for suggestions to sign up for some group activity for teenaged girl . She does individual activity and spends lot of time in social media due to lack of real friends . I’m trying to see if signing up for some activities might help her make real friends . Any suggestions are welcome

I’ve heard great things about Girl Scouts. Back then, I didn’t know about it so couldn’t do it. There are lots of high schoolers here who seem to have a close bond with their scouts teammates.

Drama is another activity you can consider. I have seen many a student, introvert or otherwise thrive, mature and nurture relationships after joining drama - it could be school or look up some local theater groups. Seems like it gives a stage to express and bond as well.

Speech and Debate is an activity more popular with high-schoolers. But increasingly, kids in 5th-8th grades are taking part in it. There are places that offer classes for this and the kids participate in local competitions. Lots of interaction with other kids, both in the classes, and at the competitions.

I think debate has more interaction than speech. It is so nice to see the young kids debating strongly and passionately about current events and some evergreen topics like school homework, uniforms for school.
