A sniglet is “Any word that doesn’t appear in the dictionary, but probably should.” You make up the word, and use it in small talk, especially when you are about to run out of things to say. Reading that story reminded me of an old thread (@Rihana: I cannot find the thing to link that) with comments on foreign words we like to import into English, and what they ought to mean when they land in our dictionary.
