    Hi,

Anyone having this problem. I get diarrhea if i eat out. Even good restaurant food causes this issue. Dont know if this could be related to hygiene. Please advise.

What if you ate at home, but have Swiggy (or Zomato, or one of the other food delivery companies) get the food from all of the restaurants that you had eaten and got the runs ? Try that out as a key experiment in your hypothesis testing.

If you are successfully keeping the food in, well... then, you are likely more hygienic in cleaning your eating plates than those restaurants had.

Women's bodies are very different and strange. A slight imbalance of hormones can cause weird responses. I saw your other post on anxiety if I remember properly. Could you be having IBS? If you are having diarrhea, just stop eating outside. Make some easy dishes in the house and have them. Restaurants use oil, chilly powder generously. I heard they also use lime and baking soda too to give the customers a feeling of being "full". Just stop eating outside for a few months until your body resets itself to normalcy. Drink more water and liquids to keep you full. When you are having an emotion upheaval, you start experiencing weird cravings. Try to calm down and shut down the sources of your anxiety whatever they are.

Even the good restaurants will have shortcuts.

It could be the water. Buy bottled water or take good home water with you, and drink from your bottle directly, not their cups. Avoid their water or ask them for bottled water and insist on sealed bottle which you will open.
Second culprit, avoid anything raw or uncooked- no raita, no dahi, salad, kachumber etc. Eat only the cooked food, piping hot or hot tea and coffee. This is what I follow and I didnt fall sick eating out in India, though I come from outside and have zero immunity.. Even fried items I eat as is, and avoid dipping in the chutney if I see it looks watery ( added water) or has garnish on it. Or tell them not to put the garnish if that is an option.

Try these next time and see.

I had the severe diarrhea problem last year and now suffering from anxiety and depression too. Everytime i went to gastro specialist he just prescribed me some probiotics and live bacteria tablets but none of those medicines solved my problem even they failed to give me temporary relief. I had too much stress and that triggered me IBS. What solved my problem was endoscopy. Yes i voluntarily asked my gastro to do endoscopy and we found out that i had h pylori infection by eating outside food. So i took 10 days antibiotic and now i am able eat any outside food i am no more allergic to dairy products. Before when i was infected i cannot have sugar drinks, fried besan foood items, milk cheese ice cream, any high fiber fruits and vegetables beans and legumes.. now everything is solved. So better find a good gastro doctor and clear the issue dear.. there is always some way.. no worries

This is clearly an infection. It could be Amebiasis or H Pylori as the previous user said. Get yourself treated with antibiotics and you should be fine soon.
