I havent' tried it. People suggest this along with fermented foods (eg:meso soup) for gut health, especially for IBD (see here)

Yogurt is part of SCD diet and fermented foods are active part of FOODMAP diet to regain gut health

It is well established that nutritional deficiency or insufficiency can affect immune functions. This review examines the major interfering agents n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), micronutrients (zinc, vitamin D and E), and functional foods that contain probiotics and tea components, their immunological effects, mechanism of action, and clinical relevance.

Many of these nutritious and non-nutritive food components have their ability to maintain or improve immune function, including inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators, promoting anti-inflammatory functions, modulation of cell-mediated immunity, alteration of antigen-presenting cell functions. Are related to tasks. , And communication between innate and adaptive immune systems. (1)

    :hello:
    HOW IT SPREADS
By airborne respiratory droplets (coughs or sneezes).
By saliva (kissing or shared drinks).

Thanks to the authors of thise quotes.
Highly informative and thorough brain storming. I simply love it to read couple of times entire thread.
    My two cents here:
Due covid my daughter wanted her parents in seventies to have enhanced immunity and stocked two different brands of frozen salted amla solid and in powder form.
It has become part of our lunch brunch and dinner.
But a fortnight later, spouse and I had watery discharge in ears.
While she didn't attribute it to eating amla, I suspected it and stopped consuming it. In three days progressively ear discharge stopped and saved me from visit to ENT specialist. It could be stray incident but info might be useful.
Throwing away tooth brush and switching to index finger and ayurvedic powder helped a lot and eliminates the risk of catching bad bacteria that settles and sits on bristles. A great idea and a grand suspicion. Thanks to @Laks09 .
    Thanks and Regards.
GOD- it is said silence-prayer yield results or better benefits. Ok I will open my mouth less frequently.
