    help!

I have a Diwali event this Friday. I ordered manga tikka with earrings.

When I try to attach manga tikka to my hair part (with Bobby pins) it falls off

The chain attached to manga tikka is only two inches.

I will not be wearing dupatta on head.

    Please please help!!!

Black nylon thread [ easy to get in sewing stores] has also been used for this. The other ends of threads are plaited with hair and/or pinned.

Yup. I was going to say this too OP. Short hook ones work with swept back hair rather than parting. Or like PP said, a black thread that will run perpendicular to part, so only a small portion is visible near the hair part and hook and rest you can comb into the hair.
